Ghost of Sue Howard Hardy

This photo was taken in the graveyard of St. Philip's in 1987 by a local amateur photographer.  He was literally in the perfect place at the perfect time for capturing this unique paranormal image.  The photo was taken on the anniversary of the death of the child of the woman buried beneath the headstone in the picture.  Our tour explains the exact circumstances which caused this incredibly sad ghost story to unravel.  Our guides also explore some of the tragic "coincidences" which have occurred to those who have handled the negative since the photo was taken on that summer night many years ago.

The whole story behind these Spectral Photographs are featured in "The Ghosts of Charleston", by Julian T. Buxton, III.  Order Your Copy Now!

This photo was taken one August night in 2005. Notice the translucent round object on the second floor balcony of the now Dock Street Theatre.

Is it an orb of the one-time church deacon's assistant turned prostitute in the old Planter's Inn? She was electrocuted on this same spot during a violent thunderstorm.  Ghost or dust on the lens?
